Safe USB Port -- USB System Level viruses, most often realized as USB Trojan attacks, are prevented by USB Defender. When a keyboard, mouse or memory stick is inserted into USB Defender, the device is restricted to act as expected. If the device attempts a USB Trojan attack, USB Defender will block all port traffic, protecting the host system. Learn more.
Safe Device -- Billions of devices in the market today have used a manufacturing process that makes them vulnerable to reprogramming. This means the devices you trust may be vulnerable to a host-based BadUSB attack. The USB Defender Hub ensures that connected USB devices cannot be reprogrammed by a host-based virus. Learn more.
Proximity Protection --This security feature can be optionally enabled by pairing your bluetooth enabled cell phone with the USB Defender hub. This security feature provides two distinct benefits. First, when this feature is enabled USB Defender will auto-lock your system when you and your phone have moved away from your computer. This implementation of auto-lock is much more secure than the timer based feature on PCs and Macs. Second, by allowing keyboard input only when you are present, any automatic typing an infected keyboard might do can be noticed.
Autorun Security Protection -- When you insert a USB memory stick into a computer, if the file autorun.inf is found, the script will be run automatically. This is convenient, if perhaps you wish to auto-run a video. However, this file could contain a virus. By using the USB Defender Hub you can place autorun protection where you need it. Devices plugged into a USB Defender Hub, will be prevented from initiating an autorun sequence, while trusted devices can use a non USB Defender port and take advantage of the convenience of autorun.
Boot Security Protection -- System IT workers often enable the USB boot feature to allow them to install security updates. However unless you actively check, you may not notice that this feature is enabled. USB Autoboot has become even more of a security threat since the Microsoft update process has been automatically rebooting machines. If a USB device with a bootable image is plugged in during this update process, that program would have complete access to your system. With the USB Defender Hub, the autoboot feature from USB memory sticks is always disabled.
